J Class Hanuman
J Class Hanuman
The J Class Hanuman JK6 was built in 2009 by Royal Huisman. She is a replica of Endeavour 2 built by Charles Nicholson for T.O.M Sopwiths second but unsuccessful challenge for the Americas Cup in 1937. The original Endeavour was sadly scraped in 1968.
Shane was lucky to follow Hanuman during the 2013 and 2014 Palma Superyacht Cup which saw 5 J Class yachts racing together for the first time in Europe since the 1930s.
This painting shows Hanuman having rounded the leeward mark at the head of the fleet beginning her beat to windward in the bay of Palm.
